Janitor Bar Exam Passer Meets Manila Mayor Erap Estrada

The 2016 Bar Examinations was full of records being broken. From one of the highest passing rates in decades to having a list of top notchers without anyone coming from the law schools in Metro Manila, it was definitely a year that “raised the bar.”
It was not just ‘records’ though, the previous bar was also full of inspiring stories left and right.
One of them is the story of Ramil Comendador.

The Janitor Turned Lawyer
The man who worked for Commission on Elections (COMELEC) as a janitor for years got everyone’s attention after he passed the bar. Using the salary he got from his job, he studied and strove to become the man he is today.
Studied law at Unibersidad de Manila, he was number 941 on the list of passers.
He didn’t just impress the netizens, he also got the attention of Former President now Manila City Mayor Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada who invited him for a chat.
In their talk, Ramil said that he is actually a fan of the mayor and pointed out that he is the inspiration for his facial hair.
Probably overwhelmed with happiness, the new attorney even fell out of his chair. Luckily, all is well and he wasn’t hurt from the fall.
He didn’t just get a chat with the mayor though, the Manila Local Government Unit (LGU) even gave him a P100,000 cash gift for a job well done.
He said that he will use the money for house repairs from the storms that passed before.
That’s not all! Mayor Erap was asked if he’d be willing to make Comendador his new Vice President.
He responded with, “Bakit Hindi? (Why not?)”
